Back in 2014, we decided to turn our shared passion into something more by starting Millward, May & Co.
In the beginning, we tackled all sorts of accountancy work, but over time, we discovered what truly excites us: helping business owners succeed. That’s why we decided to specialise in supporting businesses just like yours.

Partner
Emma Cooke, BA FCA

Emma started her accountancy career at Deloitte where she qualified as a chartered accountant and managed audits across a wide range of industries, specialising in small and medium enterprises. She then moved into industry, leading monthly management reporting and financial planning processes at leading retailer, John Lewis plc. She currently enjoys helping small and medium sized businesses with all of their accounting and taxation needs so they can focus on running their businesses.
After hanging up her football boots, Emma took up triathlon and enjoys racing at all distances. She likes to travel and compete in new locations.
What drives me is seeing my clients grow and succeed. I love the variety involved in my work and strive to give the best possible advice for each individual client.

Ryan Millward, BSc FCCA

Ryan grew up in the Wokingham area and attended the Forest School. After his A-Levels he studied Physics at Cardiff University and then worked for a local accountancy practice whilst studying for his professional qualification. He has served a diversity of businesses and specialises in helping his clients save time by leveraging the latest technology.
He is a sports enthusiast and enjoys playing most sports in his spare time. His family roots are in the North of England, resulting in an unfortunate support for Bolton Wanderers FC.
I pride myself on providing the best service that I possibly can. Every person is different and so I go out of my way to get to know them and their business so that I can provide good bespoke advice.

Sam Cheyney, BSc MAAT

After completing her Business Management degree from the University of Southampton, Sam fulfilled her childhood dream and joined British Airways as cabin crew. After enjoying 2 years travelling around Europe she kept her feet on the ground and did various operational roles, finishing her time there in the Manpower Planning Department. After taking redundancy and having her second child, Sam worked in a primary school whilst also gaining a Level 2 Bookkeeping qualification. Sam is excited to join Millward, May & Co to start her career in Accountancy and she continues to be the Treasurer for her local charity PreSchool.
Sam enjoys running, sewing, being outdoors with her family and socialising with friends.

Robson Kerr, MAAT

Robson grew up near Camberley and completed his A-Levels in PE, Maths and Accounting. After finishing college, Robson joined Millward, May & Co as a trainee accountant apprentice looking to start his full time working career. He has now completed both his Level 3 and Level 4 AAT qualifications during his time at Millward May, now progressing onto ICAEW’s Level 7 ACA Qualification.
Robson is a young keen worker who is still looking to achieve higher qualifications within accounting.
Robson enjoys playing and watching football (having represented the Aldershot schools district team) and socialising with his friends.

Samantha Leach, BSc MAAT

Samantha grew up in America where she obtained her Bachelorette in Science and pursued a career in pain management as a Soft Tissue Therapist. After doing this for 15 years, she decided it was time to finally follow her original career goals to become an Accountant.
She is always one that goes above and beyond and truly values giving that personalised attention to show each person they are important which stems from her first job at Walt Disney World. She is excited about this new adventure she’s on and is thrilled to be doing so at Millward, May and Co.
Samantha enjoys making or improving things with her own hands and has done all sorts of things from baking to refinishing furniture. Her particular interest at the moment is crocheting and she has been making various things for her new nephews and niece.

Rebecca de Souza, MAAT

Rebecca grew up in Wokingham and completed her A Levels in Philosophy, Psychology and History in Farnborough. During this time, she worked as an Activity Leader at a Holiday Camp. She has recently graduated from University College London, gaining a first-class degree in Philosophy.
Since graduating, Rebecca has taken a few months to plan out her future. She is now beginning her career at Millward, May & Co, as an accounting apprentice. Rebecca is a driven and hard-working person, who is excited to gain her accounting qualifications.
Rebecca enjoys cooking, exercising, and playing guitar.

Zohaib Ilyas

Born and raised in Reading, Zohaib completed 3 A levels, plus an EPQ, where he investigated cybercrime whilst also maintaining a job in the retail sector.
After finishing his A levels, he joined Millward, May & Co as an apprentice, where he is looking to establish himself within the accounting industry.
Zohaib is a motivated and dedicated employee, who is committed to providing customers with a great outcome.
He enjoys working out, reading true crime books, and watching TV series, recently finishing Suits, which he says is a 6/10.

Ben Hicks

Ben grew up in Reading and studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science at A-Level before continuing onto a DipHE in Computer Science at Royal Holloway, University of London. After leaving university Ben joined Millward, May & Co as an AAT Apprentice and is looking to build a career in the accounting world.
He enjoys following football and many different forms of motorsport. He has been racing go-karts for over 12 years now and currently races in the 125 rotax class at his local kart club.

Lisa Millward

Lisa worked in the Civil Service for over 20 years, mainly around administration, information and knowledge management.
Lisa is Ryan’s mum and when the call to play a part time administrative role came, she couldn’t resist an opportunity to “keep an eye on things”.
Lisa acknowledges that numbers aren’t her strongest asset, but she brings a wealth of motherly love, food supplies and fun to the Millward, May & Co team.
As a veteran netballer, Lisa is a fan of all sports, but mainly netball, football (Bolton Wanderers!!), NFL and now golf!
